In development — early access

Citations placed, checked, and still yours to change.

You decide what your citations say. OBA does everything else — and shows its working.

Placed on the evidence

It reads what each paper reported, not just its title, and puts citations where the findings actually support the claim.

Checked, and told you where it is unsure

Every citation is re-examined independently. You get a count of what held up and a short list of what needs your eye — not a promise that everything is fine.

Yours to change

Disagree with any citation and change it. Remove it here or everywhere, swap it, add another. Numbering and the reference list fix themselves.

For researchers

  • ·Bring the library you already have — Mendeley, Zotero or EndNote, exported straight in.
  • ·Cite a whole manuscript in one pass, in any of nine journal styles.
  • ·Change your mind about any citation without renumbering anything by hand.
  • ·Share one reference library with your group.

For libraries and research offices

  • ·A defensible answer when researchers ask which AI citation tools are safe to use.
  • ·Every citation independently checked, with a record of what the author signed off.
  • ·Every citation re-checked against what the abstract actually says, with the uncertain ones flagged rather than smoothed over.
  • ·One licence for the institution, not per researcher.

It is an assistant, not an autopilot

Whether a paper supports a particular claim is a judgement, and one scholars disagree about. OBA will not tell you it got every one right. What it guarantees is the part that can be guaranteed: it never cites a paper you did not give it, never invents an author or a year, never quietly shortens your manuscript, and never lets the reference list disagree with the text. The rest it shows you, and you decide.

Built for the life sciences and medicine, where reference lists are long and the metadata is good. Footnote-based styles are not supported yet.
